The Wolf Tooth Drop-Stop A PowerTrac Oval Chainring (Model SDM32-BST) is an elliptical 32-tooth direct-mount chainring. Wolf Tooth Oval Chainrings use proprietary PowerTrac Elliptical design that has all the benefits of oval, but without the funky, uneven pedal stroke. Ride one once and you’ll wonder why you waited so long to try oval.
Key Specifications & Features
Shape & Design: PowerTrac Elliptical (PTE) oval shape with a 10% ovality and 112-degree timing past top-dead-center to smooth out the pedal stroke and improve rear-wheel traction. A 32T oval ring acts like a smaller gear (around 30T) during the recovery zone and a larger gear (around 34T) in the power zone
Tooth Profile: Patented Drop-Stop narrow-wide tooth design for enhanced chain retention, mud-shedding, and wear life
Mount Type: SRAM 3-bolt direct mount
Offset & Chainline: Built with a 3mm offset designed for boost-spaced mountain bike cranksets
Material: Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum
Drivetrain Compatibility: Specific variants depend on your crank and chain type (e.g., Shimano Hyperglide+ 12-speed specific versions vs. general 9/10/11/12-speed options)
